Misty Day – New Gear

Arrived home yesterday evening and was presented with a new running jacket (lightweight and waterproof) and cool leggings for running by V and the kids for my birthday.  So no excuses this Monday.

Put them on and went out in the rain for 4.5 miles.  3 runs and nearly 15 miles in 4 days is a bit of work and I am feeling it today with my legs feeling a bit heavy.  No run today (Tue) but will go out again Wednesday.  The jacket was cool – really light compared to my other one which is more suited for really cold and heavy rain.  This suited the light mist that was falling.  Its been nearly 6 years since I wore tights running (I have leggings which are different fit).  The tights are fitted and give you this nice solid feeling of support.

So on track – keep on keeping on as the Redskins say.

3 this week – Plan for next week

Friday. Ran 4 mile loop – nice to do it on a Friday evening after week in work.

Saturday
Saturday was a muggy, damp, wet day.  Mid afternoon I decided to bite the bullet and pulled out my running jacket for the first time this year as it looked as if it was going to bucket down.  Also dusted off the running leggings as it was a bit cool out there.

I dragged myself off the couch (yes that couch) and hit the road for a 4 miler.  Of course my magical powers came into play and not a drop of rain fell during the run.  It was really really hard going to run as it felt as if the sky was pushing down it was so close.  I hauled my ass around and in the door.  A significant day really as ther first time in memory that I have run two days in succession.  This was another part of the reason for it being hard.

Sunday: Was going to do a 3-in-a-row but he was too late and went to Garrettown for a nice walk on the beach on a beautiful sunny day.


Monday:
Gear in work – plan to do the 6 mile circuit around Mahon.

Temp Plan

Running plan for next week is to start tempo running once a week to break the 8 min mile mark.  Tonights run is a 4 miler around Douglas.  Onwards and upwards…..
